Making Music Work (MMW) is an innovative project based in the Birmingham area, designed to encourage a positive link between performing musicians, technicians and the music industry.
The road to secure employment in the music business is difficult to travel, everybody needs a break and the recognition of talent is important. We want to reward those with talent and ability, by supporting self-employed musicians and helping unemployed clients to achieve sustainable employment.
MMW's Goldstar project is a training and employment initiative specifically aimed at unemployed musicians with aspirations of gaining employment and/or work placements in schools.
Clients participate in a Personal Development Programme and an Activity Leaders Course, to provide them with the necessary skills and qualities to work in a classroom.
A Key Skill project covering up to 3 key skills such as Communication, Working with Others and/or Improving Own Learning at Level 2, has been developed for clients to achieve a recognised training outcome.
We provide an initial assessment, ongoing assessment and internal verification to meet award body requirements. |
